Between 02 and 03, Yoke and Zoom installed one pair of grit bins, one labeled GRIT, the other DETERMINATION in each of the six district council areas within Worcestershire: Bromsgrove, Malvern Hills, Redditch, Wychavon, Wyre Forest and Worcester City. A total of six pairs or 12 grit bins.
The bins were manufactured and customized for Yoke and Zoom by Linpak Environmental in Yeovil. They were installed in rural roadside (with the exception of Worcester City) where they will benefit the community in a practical sense and as an artwork. Grit and determination was funded by West Midlands Arts Rural Responses grant, supporting projects that aim to contribute positively to rural development issues in partnership with local communities, and that contribute to regeneration in non metropolitan areas.
